Nice base for our hiking advetures
We stayed at the Rocks Chalet for 3 nights and used it as a base for hiking in the area. The unit was pleasant, spacious, clean, quiet, and set off the main road. We enjoyed the king bed, nice bathroom with supplies, and the small front porch with a table and chairs where we sat outside for happy hour on our sunny and warm evenings. The unit had an area with a small fridge, supplies for making coffee and tea, and a few dishes for making breakfasts and lunches. We were unable to get a self-contained room closer to the beach so we did miss having a self-contained kitchenette. We appreciated being able to do a load of laundry and found the owner helpful when we had questions. We enjoyed eating our evening meals out in the sleepy and quiet town at the few restaurants we went to. The main highlights of this area were our visits and hikes to Cape Farewell, Wharariki beach, The Grove, and Wainui/Taupo Point in the Abel Tasman NP. We were fortunate to have beautiful, sunny and very warm weather (in March).
